THE OUTCOME OF SEVERAL YEARS
WRITING
“Human Contradiction” is the first album of musicians
who have given time to mature and to improve
their compositions. Free Launch demonstrates its
inspiration and its originality without concessions,
… without limits. Ultimately, this album defines
the band’ style, which explores its particular way of
making music by taking advantage of the numerous
influences that are driving the different members.
BIG GUITARS, MACHINES AND A
MELODIC VOICE
If there is a need to categorize the album, some
comparisons to other bands can however be
done...When listening to the straight forward guitars
of “Why”, “The Day Before I Die” and “Things Are
Not What They Seem”, the names of “Rammstein”
or “Oomph!” will easily come to mind, yet the
melodic vocals are closer to the likes of “Faith No
More” or “Pain”. “No Matter What” is a guitar
driven “Prodigy”. The trance arpegiator of “What I
Am” mixed with pianos would probably make you
think of “Paradise Lost”. “Heavy Lie” will sink you
in a sophisticated world close to “Celldweller”. The
melodic progressions of “Black or Red” inevitably
recalls “Muse”. Nonetheless, Free Launch likes to
surprise you... by bringing its very own touch.
A CONCEPT ALBUM
As the track titles already show, the lyrics are related
to the self-questioning and the complexity of man.
A theme developed in 13 tracks that the illustrator
Ackeron perfectly depicted in his powerful artwork.
